The first sushi bar was opened in Ponza, in its harbor: beyond the small tunnel and between Sant’Antonio and Giancos.     Tempura is a frying method of the Portuguese cuisine that Japanese cooks have evolved into art. The origin of the name comes from the four “timings” observed by Portuguese Gesuite missionaries that abstained from eating meat and prepared fried vegetables and fish, commonly eaten in Portugal.
